Day 11... Top Off Thursday!

Today is Thursday, but it seems like Friday. I am going to call it Fursday. Nope I hate it and I am embarressed I wrote that. Last night we decided to finish off the quahogs we dug for this past weekend. Consider it a challenge. Then we deicded we NEEDED lobsters. So ryan and I bopped down to Stop n Shop (because the Tony's Seafood was CLOSED!) to grab some lobsters. After wrestling outside with the pot and grill and the whole thing, we finally ate around 10pm... AGAIN! I certanly see a pattern here!

Day 10... It's Wednesday!!!

Ok so its Wednesday, I know I have posted in a while. Life just has ups and downs just like the road to weight loss. I do have a confession to make... It has been 7 days since my last post and about 10 since my last Dunkin Donuts Bagel. I stopped this morning and got one! Yowza! I know I know but if I do not have time in the morning to make breakfast and get things together, this is what happends. Solution- Get up earlier or pack things the night before!


Anyway these past few days have been pretty good. Saturday my mom, Ryan and I went to the Cape to go quohogging. So that was really fun to be outside in the water and sunshine! The downfall was that gramma made muffins, I ate about 6 of them. THEY WERE SOOOO GOOD! Then after we rested up a bit, Ryan and I made our way down to Twin River to see the Southern Comfort band. Now I must say, I went there knowing I was going to let loose!!! The band was really fun, but I did drink alittle. (This is where Ryan will post a comment about how if by a little you mean 1/2 the bar) HAH so after a late night of jammin, dancing, gambling, drinking and freestyling, I found myself at McDonalds. I totally caved! There was NO DOUBT in my mind that Micky D's is what I wanted, nay NEEDED! So I indulged Saturday night and felt it Sunday!


Sunday was nice, relaxing and fun. Ryan went golfing so my sister Liz came over and we watched Bride Wars - so fun! Then off I went to save my mom from going to the Christmas Tree Shoppe alone. A person can drown in the sea of "BARHHGINS" without a companion. :) So we went on the hunt to find fun trinkets for the Cape rental house, I attempted to find things for Ryans (so difficult to come up with a scheme for decorating a house! Ah! Is there a class I can take?! I will enlist Holly "the eye" Courturier. The girl can decorate a Guatemalian jail cell to look like a cozy beachfront cottage! (Shout out to Guat Grace!) Then amongst all of this fun housewife stuff, I was babysitting my neice Layla. She is super cute and curious! She is also a boxer.. a puppy. Although some children need a leash. Another rant for another day.


The way I see it...
*This is going to be a section that I try and incorporate when neccessary. These are going to be words from Ryan about what I need to do differently and ideas that might help*

1. Eating too late. Example - Last night I think I ate dinner around 10pm! Uhg
2. Waiting too long to eat durning meals. - I get SUPER cranky, mean and over all tired.


I am a fan of Skinny Cow Ice Cream. I am stil up in the air about eating it instead of regular ice cream but decide for yourself!

Day 3 ... Going Strong and Staying Sober!




Ha today's title makes me sound like I am in AA. ANYWAY! So it is Thirsty Thursday for everyone except for me. Day 3 and NO WINE or Beer!! Its going pretty good! Yesterday after work I went on my normal course in Rehoboth. It is 1.33 miles. Ryan ran the route and clocked in at around 9 mins! Mind you this route is full of inclines! Now it was my turn. With B. Spears and the Pussy Cat Dolls as my running mates I was off! Well exhausted and 15 mins later I completed my run/walk. So Ryan is officially faster than me! Haha I will keep doing this to beat his time!

Last night was the opening of the Kenny Chesney movie in 3D. I am extremely sad to say that even though we filmed for an entire day, we didn't make the cut! I am assuming it will be on the DVD or something. So I thought with going to the movies with Amber and my Mom, I would be tempted to eat junk food but that was NOT the case. Both Deb and I were armed to fight the hunger with baby carrots! Ha its no buttered popcorn but what are you going to do?! It is nice to know that my mom is working hard at this too! Her goal is no alcohol until she loses 5 lbs! Whoo Mom! Way to go! You can bet your butt she is working hard to loose those 5 lbs! The woman is thirsty! So getting home after the movie it was officially too late to eat! It was about 10:10pm. I was super cranky because I was so hungry and just sat through a movie eating carrots! How am I supposed to feel?! Ryan decided it was a good idea to feed me before I really got out of control, so 1/2 a PB & J it was. It was probably the BEST thing I ate that day! He also surprised me with FLOWERS!!! This just upped my motivation to keep working!
This morning I was so motivated to get up and go for a walk before work! 6:00AM Ryan and I went on our route 1.33 miles. We did this is about 20 mins. I was using my 2 lb hand weights which have become my new best friends! Then I ate a egg white omelet with tomatoes and low fat mozzarella cheese with an iced coffee! So delicious! (Plus 3 bites of steak! I couldn't resist that!)
For lunch and all around snacks throughout the day, I have been consuming Green ,Red and orange peppers, carrots, watermelon, grapes, and a tuna sand which (compliments of Ryan and it is delicious!)
At lunch today Nate, the web guy and all around stud, and I went for our usual 1 mile walk to subway/ Dunkin then back to the office. I love this whole walking thing, my legs are kinda sore and I am obsessed with being outside! After work today I plan on running the course (we will see how much running is actually done) and maybe beating my time of 15mins.
It is almost Friday and I couldn't be more excited! I am most likely going to cheat a little but I am going to do my best to make smart decisions! Have a great Thursday! I will be cleaning and organizing my clothes this evening and watching my shows!

Day 2... I am already starving!

Ok so Happy Wednesday! Today is my movie debut! We'll I am hopfully in the background somewhere! Amber, my mom (Deb) and I are heading to the IMAX theater tonight to catch the opening of Kenny Chesneys movie. This past summer we went to the filming and were in the background scenes of the tailgating. So pretty much I am a celebrity, which is also another reason that I need to be skinny!





So yesterday I must say was pretty sucessful! I kept a food journal of everything I ate, (still debating on posting) walked a mile durning lunch and about 2 after work. Instead of my usual glass of wine after work, I had a glass of water, in a wine glass of course! My walk after work was really fun! My sister, Liz and my boyfriend, Ryan oh and Scottie the dog all joined me on the walk. I, with my 2lb hand weights and my work out buddies in tow, started off. I walked and ran a bit durning this. Today my arms are feeling sore from the weights but I love it!

After the walk/run it was so difficult to NOT snack while I cooked dinner. Good thing I decided to cut up my veggies for lunch today so I ate some of those. For dinner I made talapia with Whole Wheat Ritz Crackers on top with olive oil and butter. ( Hey first day, I'm not cutting out cooking with butter cold turkey!) I paired it with a side of steamed edamame with salt. Edamame is probably my favorite healthy snack!


This morning could have been a tragic situation that would have thrown me into the Dunkin Donut Blueberry bagel heaven, but NO! I stayed strong and started with kashi go lean ceral with cinnamon. I always try to put cinnamon on foods because it helps with weight loss. I was getting ready for work and NOTHING fit! I was devestated! I decided that instead of being depressed, I was going to be motavated and keep working at my goal!

I also forgot to mention.. NO SODA either! My only rule with soda is its acceptable if I am drinking it with Capt'n. Other than that, it will go on the wine list.

1 glass of wine = 1 mile run/walk to be completed that week! (ontop of the regular work out!)


That is all for now! I just can't wait to get out of work and go for my walk/run!

Day 1... The game is on!

Hi! Happy Tuesday! It is officially April 20th, my pretty friend Grace's birthday (who is currently saving babies in Guatemala and looking fly doing so) and also the day I start by long anticipated campaign for being skinny! I call it Trim in '010! Clearly it has been 2010 for a few months now, but I recently began a new relationship with a total stud, therefore I am experiencing what has been so eloquently named "Love Chub." Thank you Holly for introducing this terminology to me! Since he has lost about 30lbs since we got together in January and I have gained about 10, I think it is about time to reclaim my body for this horrible disease! Another reason this NEEDS to happen is that my birthday is in 47 days... June 5th! I will be 24 years old.

Things that I beleive have contributed to my weight gain...
1. Love Chub
2. Stress at work - Cortisol
3. Lack of exercise - Combination of both #1 & #2. I work until 5, I just want to get home and destress. Causing me to hang out with my boyfriend and cook a fun dinner! This is all well and good but it needs to be in moderation.
4. Eating out more
5. Medication

So there it is, now it is time to change up the life style a bit.

Here are the goals for 2010...
1. Drop 15lbs by June 5th. This may be altered tomorrow when I think about it more.
* No ice cream at night
* Keeping a Food Journal
* Atleast 30 mins of exercise (Sweating) 3-4 times per week
* No BEER or WINE!!! (This is going to be especially hard! I might cheat on this especially with wine after work, but don't worry, I will keep track and make up for it with exercise!)
* Going out tonight to buy Easytone sneaks! - Amber has them and swears by them... Couldn't hurt!
2. Enroll in Yoga Instruction - Become a certified teacher
3. Back to school for my masters!

I know these are a lot, but I am a motivated girl! I know I can get all this accomplished and be Trim in '010!!!!
